My 90km Journey
I have travelled the 90km when I was
14 years old because my parents did not
pay for food and thanks to Robert Nkosi
who accomodated me with food and shelter.I woke up at 5'0 clock in the morning leaving Malekutu and passing
residential areas along Kabokweni which
was 10km ascending the winding roads to
20km gentle slope side T junction then
I turned to the left to White River 5km and walk in the White River main Road which was 1km and turn to T junction
Sabie-Nelspruit to further 10km where I
turned left for another 10km until I reached Sabie-Nelspruit where I walked
20km to Rosough.My father was a clerk.
After I told him the whole story.
He said I must go to my mum who stayed
and worked as a teacher at Long Tom which was a Government Forestry Farm.
I did not get any food. The following morning I had to drink water and travelled
that 60km.When I arrived at least I got food and gave me R50
I boarded a bus where there were gamblers.I tried my luck an I was left with R10.00
